First, the city question, because it gets published wrong constantly. Woodfield sits inside the City of West Melbourne, not Melbourne. West Melbourne is its own municipality, incorporated in 1959 by voters who wanted to stop the area from being annexed into Melbourne, and it now runs its own police department and its own utility billing while buying water from the City of Melbourne. Your permits, your code questions and your city services all go to West Melbourne.
Getting in is simple: south on Minton Road from US 192, east on Heritage Oaks Boulevard, then left through the gate into Woodfield. Heritage Oaks is the larger area.
