Today Port Canaveral serves as homeport for 18 ships across seven major cruise brands and supports more than 1,000 sailings a year. That makes it one of the largest economic engines on the Space Coast.
What Is Being Built at Port Canaveral Next?
To keep up with demand, the port is rolling out a multiyear improvement plan known as the Port Canaveral Advantage, a roughly $912 million investment in new and expanded facilities over five years.
Cruise Terminal 5 is doubling in size to about 170,000 square feet, with more room for luggage, seating, and security screening, targeted for completion in late 2026. A new parking facility with 3,732 spaces, the largest garage ever built at the port, is scheduled to open in fall 2026. Plans also call for a new cruise terminal campus to handle continued growth.
