If you're thinking about moving to Viera, Florida and want a home that doesn't come with a weekend full of yardwork, the Emerald floor plan by Viera Builders in Pangea Park deserves a spot on your short list. It's a maintenance-free villa with almost 1,800 square feet under air, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a two-car garage, and it's designed for buyers who want the Viera lifestyle without the upkeep of a traditional single-family home.

I recently walked through the Emerald with Lisa from Viera Builders, and I wanted to break down everything you need to know before you visit the model in person.

Where the Emerald Floor Plan Fits in Pangea Park, Viera

Pangea Park is one of my favorite neighborhoods inside Viera. It's a newer community by Viera Builders with a mix of single-family homes and half-duplex villas, and the villas are what make Pangea Park stand out for buyers who want low-maintenance living.

The Emerald is the half-duplex villa floor plan. It shares a wall with the Sapphire, which is the mirror-image plan on the other side of the duplex. The quick way to tell them apart from the street: the Emerald has a straight driveway, while the Sapphire has a curved driveway. Everything else about the two plans is very similar in feel.

What "Maintenance-Free" Actually Means Here

In Pangea Park, the villas are truly maintenance-free on the outside. The exterior painting, the roof, and all of the landscaping are taken care of for you. That's a big deal if you're relocating to Florida from a colder climate and don't want to spend your first Florida summer figuring out how to keep a lawn alive in August. It also makes these villas a strong option as a lock-and-leave second home if you're not living in Brevard County full time.

Emerald Floor Plan: Layout and Room-by-Room Walkthrough

Kitchen and Main Living Area

The Emerald has an open-concept layout with the kitchen, dining, and family room flowing into one another. The villa version of the gourmet kitchen comes with a gas range plus a separate cooktop, a microwave drawer, and clean white cabinetry. It's a functional, entertaining-friendly kitchen without the oversized footprint of Viera Builders' larger single-family plans.

The family room is anchored by a built-in electric fireplace with color-changing rocks and adjustable flame colors. It's a fun feature, especially for buyers coming from up north who miss the ambiance of a fireplace without wanting an actual wood-burning one in Florida.

Outdoor Living

The Emerald offers multiple lot options in Pangea Park, including water views and wooded preserve views. The lanai can be built out as a screened bird cage, which is a smart move in Florida for keeping mosquitoes and no-see-ums out of your evening. On this model, the standard single slider was upgraded to a double slider that opens the home up to the outdoor space, which is one of the upgrades I'd absolutely recommend if you're building.

Primary Suite

The primary bedroom is at the back of the home with the primary bathroom set up for easy aging-in-place. You get double vanities, a linen closet, a large walk-in primary closet, and a walk-in shower. Every shower in the villas is zero-entry, which is a huge feature for buyers who want to stay in this home long term. The shower controls are positioned right at the entry so you can turn the water on before you step in.

Secondary Bedrooms, Laundry, and Garage

The Emerald includes two additional bedrooms that can easily flex into a home office, craft room, or guest space. The secondary bathroom has taller vanities, a bathtub, and a linen closet. The laundry room is generously sized and includes a utility sink, which is not something every Florida floor plan gets right. Your dryer can be gas or electric depending on your preference. The two-car garage is standard size with plenty of room for storage.

Standard Features That Come With Every Emerald

Viera Builders includes several features as standard in the Emerald that other Brevard County builders often charge extra for:

Impact windows all the way around the home. If you're new to Florida, this is your hurricane protection built right into the glass, no shutters required. Tankless gas water heaters are also standard in every Viera Builders plan, which means you're not going to run out of hot water in the middle of a shower and your water heater takes up less physical space in the garage.

Who the Emerald Is Right For

This villa is a strong fit for buyers who want the Viera lifestyle — the trails, the golf, the shopping at The Avenue, the access to Health First Viera Hospital, and the location halfway between the beaches and I-95 — but don't want to maintain a large yard or a single-family home. That includes empty-nesters, retirees, snowbirds who split time between Florida and another state, and full-time professionals who travel for work and want a home they don't have to think about while they're gone.
