The Fourth of July is one of the best weekends of the year to be on Florida's Space Coast. With the beach, the Indian and Banana Rivers, and a string of waterfront parks, Brevard County knows how to put on a show. And 2026 is extra special: it's America's 250th birthday, so several of our cities are going all out. Here's your local guide to where to celebrate across Brevard this year.
Cocoa Beach: America 250 Celebration & Drone Show (Friday, July 3)
Cocoa Beach is doing something new for 2026. Instead of traditional fireworks, the city is hosting an America 250 Celebration and its first-ever drone show at Centennial Square (2 S Orlando Ave). The event opens around 5:00 PM with carnival midway games, live music, a photo booth, and a kids' zone, and the drone show launches at about 9:00 PM.
Here's the insider tip: the show is synced to a soundtrack you play on your own phone. Download the Pyrocast app ahead of time so the music lines up with the drones overhead. Admission is free. Note the date, this one is Friday, July 3, the night before Independence Day, so you can catch Cocoa Beach on Friday and something else on the Fourth itself.
Melbourne: MelBOOM at Front Street Park (Saturday, July 4)
MelBOOM is one of the county's signature Fourth of July events, held right on the water at Claude Edge Front Street Park (2210 Front Street) in downtown Melbourne. The celebration runs through the afternoon and evening with food trucks, a KidZone, live entertainment, and waterfront views, with fireworks going off around 9:00 PM.
Parking near the park fills up fast and the causeway is closed to parking, so plan to use the free park-and-ride shuttle from the Melbourne Auditorium (625 Hibiscus Blvd). Shuttles typically run from around 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, which saves you the headache of fighting for a spot downtown.
Titusville: Red, White & Boom at Chain of Lakes Park (Saturday, July 4)
Up in North Brevard, Titusville hosts Red, White & Boom at Chain of Lakes Park, typically running early evening from around 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Expect family-friendly entertainment, live music, gourmet food trucks, vendor booths, bounce houses, and face painting, capped by a fireworks show over the water. If you want a big-event feel without the beachside crowds, this is a great pick, and Titusville's riverfront also gives you those classic Space Coast sunset-and-launch-country views.
Palm Bay: Independence Day Celebration at EFSC (Saturday, July 4)
Palm Bay puts on one of the largest festival layouts in the county at the Eastern Florida State College Palm Bay Campus (250 Community College Pkwy SE). The celebration typically runs from about 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with fireworks launching around 9:15 PM. There's free on-site parking, which alone makes it one of the easier big celebrations to attend with kids in tow.
Viera: Fireworks at the USSSA Space Coast Complex (Saturday, July 4)
In Central Brevard, the Viera community fireworks display at the USSSA Space Coast Complex (5800 Stadium Pkwy) is one of the largest shows in the area. It's a popular, family-friendly gathering with plenty of open space, and it's convenient for anyone living in Viera, Suntree, or Rockledge who'd rather not drive to the beach.
Tips for Enjoying the Fourth on the Space Coast
Arrive early and plan your parking
The best waterfront spots go early, and many events either run shuttles or have limited parking. Getting there an hour or two ahead means a better view and a lot less stress.
Bring the beach-day basics
Chairs or blankets, water, bug spray, and sunscreen go a long way at any of these events, especially the ones on the sand or along the river. July evenings here are warm and humid, so hydrate.
Watch the weather
Summer afternoon storms are normal in Brevard. A passing shower usually clears out before showtime, but check the forecast and event pages the day of, since weather can occasionally push a fireworks or drone show.
Consider the water
Some of the best fireworks views in the county are from a boat on the Indian or Banana River. If you have water access, or friends who do, it's hard to beat watching multiple city shows light up the sky at once.
