Grant Station dates to 1893, originally built by Louis Benson and later operated by Lars Jorgensen as Jorgensen's General Store. Over the years, the historic building served the growing Grant community as a residence, general store, post office, telegraph office, and trading post. The property changed hands in 1956 and continued as a general store until closing in the early 1960s. It was restored in the 1990s and, in 1999, Jorgensen's General Store was added to the National Register of Historic Places. In 2011, Chris Pozgar purchased Historic Grant Station and completed extensive renovations, bringing new life to the property while preserving its historic character. Today, the property is home to an operating restaurant and complementary commercial uses, continuing a tradition of serving the Grant community that began more than 130 years ago. NOTE: Traffic light and crosswalk expected at US-1 and First St. Summer 2027! National Register of Historic Places: 99000711
